The Equipment

Before you can cook, you need a few basic things.
1. First you need a stove. Personally I prefer Gas stove. Much more powerful than electric ones. Sometimes you really need that power to cook Chinese food.

2. You need a knife. The best thing about Chinese food is everything is bite size. That means you will need to do a lot of cutting before hand. I like the Chinese cleaver style knives. They are big and heavy; easier to cut.

3. A wok. You can't cook real Chinese food without a wok. When you choose a wok, the heavier and thicker the better. This will ensure the heat to distribute evenly. The food will less likely to be overcooked.

Next time, we will start the fire and cook some Chinese food.
